Zen

Paradoxical unity: the idea that two opposites can coexist simultaneously. Ugly and beautiful, male and female, good and evil, right and wrong. We are so preoccupied by defining these things as opposites, but we don’t realize that they only exist because of the other. If there was no ugliness, nothing and no one would be particularly beautiful. They balance each other. We have to learn to live with both, and not continually compare everything. To stop judging everything we come across.
